Today, on Saturday, the 5th of April, we celebrated the Divine Liturgy in English. The service was officiated by Fr. Seraphim.
Anticipating the commemoration of St. Mary of Egypt the next day, Fr. Seraphim offered a sermon on the perverse early life and sudden repentance of St. Mary, on living a life of prayerful repentance, and on her eventual full restoration, accompanying the sermon by a difficult, yet beautiful, story from his own pastoral experience.
We then gathered for our traditional breakfast meal. This was followed by catechism class offered by Joshua Laurin for those wishing to become Orthodox, or simply learn more about the faith.
Our next service will be Divine Liturgy on Saturday, the 12th of April, at 9:30 AM, at St. Nicholas. Hope to see you there!
