Divine Liturgy July 18

On Saturday, the 18th of July, we celebrated the Divine Liturgy in English. The service was headed by Fr. Dimitriy, assisted by Fr. Deacon Georgiy.

On the occasion of the commemoration of St. Sergiy of Radonezh, the great hegumen of Russia, Fr. Dimitriy offered a sermon on the importance of understanding the Gospel, of loving God with all our strength, and of asking the saints, especially St. Sergiy, for help with this.

For the first time ever, we sang the Liturgy with a full choir but without a choir director. This was made possible by the strength, talent, and preparation of our singers, and by all the effort our directors, Alexander, Nadezhda, Seraphim, Svetlana, Tatiana, and others, have put into developing the choir over time. Thank you to everyone!

After the service, we had our traditional breakfast meal, which was followed by catechism class for those interested in learning more about the Orthodox faith.
